Top 5 tips for a Muslim Couple’s Photoshoot (from a Muslim Wedding Photographer)
So you’ve gone to the MSA events and conferences and finally found the love of your life. You’ve booked that photographer you’ve had your eye on all year and now all that’s left to do is make sure you get the pictures of your dreams. We have a few tips that will make sure you’’ll want to post those pictures every anniversary for the next 20 years.
1. Know What You Want
Know what you want during the shoot and then work with the photographer to get those shots. Have a special mosque you and your partner love going to? Go get some shots there when it’s empty. Want to reenact the first time you met your significant other at the coffee shop on campus? Just let your photographer know ahead of time and they’ll no doubt enjoy getting creative to make those pictures a reality for you.
2. Keep the Lighting in Mind
Golden hour isn’t just for instagram selfies! If you want glowy, dreamy pictures, plan on being on location and ready to go an hour or so before the sun sets. Don’t want any direct sunlight? Check the weather and make sure there's a cloudy day on the forecast. Yes there’s still post production editing, but nothing beats that natural light.
3. Practice Your Poses
I know I know, who wants to be that person posing in the mirror but trust us! Once you know your angles, you’ll be able to work with the photographer to get pictures you feel like you actually love how you look in. *Need some help with Muslim wedding photography poses? 4. Be Natural
You don’t need to do some crazy pose you saw on Pinterest the other day (unless you want to) but usually the best photos of couples are the ones where they’re just being themselves. If your partner makes you laugh way too hard, get a couple laughing shots. If you love when they put their head on your shoulder, get some pictures like that. We’re almost certain those will be your favorites.
5. Be Yourself, Let Loose, and Have Fun
The photoshoot shouldn’t leave you with a bunch of stiff pictures because you were too nervous. Blast some music that you know brings the silly side out of you and just really have fun with it. I promise you’ll be glad you did when you’re showing the pictures to all your friends and family.
